Sealants are installed in place of grout in joints/gaps in tile installations to allow expansion and contraction movements of the substrate/building or tile bed.
Colours of sealants can be closely matched to grout colours for aesthetics.
Natural stone and unglazed porcelain needs to be coated with penetrating sealer to prevent staining/ water absorption.
Tiled surface needs to be completely free from dust/dirt/grout haze to prevent the sealer trapping contaminants. Sealers are not compatible with water unless water based.
Installation is relatively simple.
